Boiling Spring Lakes is 23.3 square miles and conveniently located between Wilmington and Southport. In 2017 the population was roughly 6719. The community has a 275 acre lake. During Florence the damn broke and the lake drained. The city is currently estimating the lake to begin refilling in 2020. Spring Lake is another beautiful lake that offers swimming and water activities. With over 50 different lakes and ponds Boiling Spring Lakes offers homes for everyone ranging from the low 100’s and up.

Is a quiet, secluded beach lifestyle what you crave? Situated at the eastern end of Oak Island it is one of the least populated beaches in Brunswick County. The town of Southport is just minutes away on the mainland. Caswell is also home to the newest lighthouse in NC. Built in 1958, it is also one of the brightest in the United States, shining its light almost 24 miles out to sea.

Has been named one of the best family beaches in the country for good reason. Try kayaking, bird watching, canoeing or standup paddling on the Intracoastal Waterway. During the Civil War Holden Beach and Lockwood’s Folley Inlet became the resting place of several shipwrecks: the Confederate blockade runners CSS Elizabeth and CSS Bendigo and the Union blockade ship USS Iron Age (1862). The remains of the USS Iron Age can be seen on most eastern end of the island during the periods of low-tide.

If life near the ocean beaches or the intracoastal waters is what you’re looking for, then Oak island is the place for you. With almost ten miles of beaches to please you, the activities are endless and boating is easy to enjoy with two marinas and several public boat and canoe ramps. There is a challenging golf course on the island as well as several championship courses on the mainland within just a few miles of Oak Island. If you would like to spend a day exploring the mainland then the charming town of Southport is just a few minutes ride away. Come and see all Oak Island has to offer.

This is a laid back, family friendly beach town that will allow you to relax and enjoy the pleasures of an old-fashioned beach adventure. Sea turtles come back each year to nest on its shores and surfers love its waves. The Museum of Coastal Carolina is here as well as the Silver Coast Winery – an award winning operation that grows more popular each year. The history of Southport is an old and interesting one, but it all revolves around the sea. Incorporated as town in 1999, St. James is an exclusive, gated community conveniently situated along Highway 211. St. James residents enjoy many upscale neighborhood amenities, including a private marina, restaurant, athletic complex with pool, chapel, and 81 holes of golf with multiple clubhouses. The St. James Town Hall and Conference Center are located just outside the town gates. The Conference Center hosts several community events throughout the year. Adjoining Bird Island coastal reserve this is an old-fashioned family style beach at the southern-most point in North Carolina. Sunset Beach was home to the last working swing bridge on the east coast. This has since been replaced with a modern 65 foot high arc bridge. The old Sunset Beach pontoon swing bridge was saved by the Old Bridge Preservation Society which plans to create a museum celebrating the old bridge and the town’s history.

 

Winding River Plantation is located on about 1000 acres. The community has approximately 1100 homes, 18 townhomes and 50 condominiums. Within minutes you can be at the club house on Holden Beach or visiting the quaint town of Southport.
